Forum 2025

Held at the Banquet hall, Havolock City, Colombo on the 11th December 2025

The 3rd National Urban Design Forum 2025, titled “Shaping Urban Futures: Navigating Identity, Power, and Agency in the Age of Transformation,” brought together leading policymakers, academics, and urban design professionals. The forum featured keynote addresses by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe; Prof. Frank Schwartze (Germany); Prof. Manish Chalana (USA); and the Guest of Honour, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Purna Bahadur Nepali, Ambassador of Nepal.

The programme also showcased key Institute activities, student project exhibitions, and the inauguration of the 11th ICCPP Conference, interspersed with vibrant fusion dance performances by the University of Moratuwa Drama Club. The forum reaffirmed the vital role of urban designers in shaping Sri Lanka’s urban futures amid ongoing urban transformation.

Forum 2024

Held at the Banquet hall, Havolock City, Colombo on the 8th November 2024

2nd Forum SLIUD was held under the theme “Resilient Cities; Enabling conditions for Life to Thrive” was held at the Banquet Hall, Havolock city. 

KeyNote speakers were Prof. Gary Archibold Boyd, Prof. TAy Keng Soon and Urb. Des. Nayana Mawilmada. DIscussions were moderated by Archt. Hiranthi Welendawa.

 

Cheif guest was the Ambassoder of Netherlands. 

 

Scrolls were awarded to the coperate members and th enewly elected members and inbetween the activties fusion dances were performed. 2nd Forum of the SLIUD was successfully conducted after fellowship and dinner. 

Forum 2023

Held at the Club House Havolock City, Colombo on the 30th January 20243

First Forum was conducted at the roof top, Club house at the Havlock City. 

Distingused group of Key note speakers Addressed the gathering over Zoom due to restictions brought upon by the Covid pandemic. Despite the covid restrictions many atteneded the conference. Scrolls were presented to the new appointed assosiate and coperate memebrs. 

Certificates and awards were given to the winners of the Children’s art competition held.
